Oscar Baldwin Wilday, Jr was born March 10, 1920 to Oscar Baldwin Wilday, Sr and Catherine Russell Wilday. On December 13, 2025, at the age of 105, Baldwin peacefully passed on to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Doris Sellen Wilday. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ilma Carroll and Joyce Lambour, and his grandson, Timothy Wilday.

Baldwin was the father of Judith Wilday Cawthon Scavio, Daniel Wilday, Robroy Wilday and Mary Williams; father-in-law of Edward Scavio, Charles Cawthon, Ramona Wilday, Cindy Wilday and Allen Williams, Jr; Grandfather of Tracey Emsing (John), Christopher Cawthon, Richard Wilday, Bethany Wilday Giles (Daron), Nicholas Wilday, Amie Davis (Ovid), Kimberli Ortego (Tyler), Emily Williams (Jeffrey), Rebecca Williams; great-grandfather of Maxwell Sanchez, Lillian Davis, Lucille Ortego, Charles Ortego, and Katherine Ortego.

Baldwin was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Holy Cross High School and received a degree in Accounting from Loyola University. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Flintkote Co. as an accountant, then retired from Nestle' as an accountant. His hobbies were fishing and dancing, which he did well into his 90s. Baldwin was a one-of-a-kind and touched countless lives in both his personal life and his career.

The family wishes to say a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Specialists of LA, and especially to Cherie for her loving attention and care shown to Baldwin.

Friends may come at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, for visitation and Mass. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to please consider a donation to Saint Edwards the Confessor Church or Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans.
