Claudia LaPointe Obituary
Claudia Katherine (LaPointe) Zuniga was born on October 27, 1961 in Pine Ridge, SD to Claude LaPointe, Jr. and Effie Mary (Loafer Joe) LaPointe. Claudia made her journey to the Spirit World on January 24, 2026 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus in Rochester, MN.
Claudia is survived by her long-time special friend, William Brown Wolf of Eagle Butte, SD; daughters, Zerelda Walks Out of Minneapolis, MN and Lita Zuniga of Albuquerque, NM; son, Frank Zuniga of Duluth, MN; sisters, Brenda (Perry) Red Bull Crow of Oglala, SD, and Adele Red Bull of Red Scaffold, SD; nephews, Tyler LaPointe and James LaPointe, both of Wolf Creek, SD; niece, Erica LaPointe of Wolf Creek, SD; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Claudia was preceded in death by her husband, George Zuniga; mother, Effie Mary (Loafer Joe) LaPointe; father, Claude LaPointe, Jr.; brothers, Weldon LaPointe, Frank LaPointe, and James Red Bull; sister, Henrietta Two Bulls/Penny Porter; daughters, Linda Sue and Sheree Zuniga; son, Wakinyan "Rocky" Zuniga; and niece, Tamara LaPointe.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Yellow Horse, Alan Yellow Horse, Sr., Tom Cheyenne, Claire Bear Saves Life, Verdell Bear Saves Life, James LaPointe, Tyler Two Crow, Wilbur Yellow Horse III, Dominic Roan Eagle, and Isaiah Red Bear Crow.

Burial Services: St. Matthew's Episcopal Cemetery, Slimbuttes, SD
