Claudia Macklen

Claudia C. Macklen, 80, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Thursday May 22, 2025 while at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown, South Carolina. She was born on April 25, 1945 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Henry Friese Curley & Ruby Ellen Julian Curley.
Along with her parents, Claudia is reunited in passing with her son, George Winston Macklen, Jr.; grandson, Joey Howard Causey, II; and son in-law, Joey Howard Causey.
Claudia was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was a graduate of Wampee High School, Class of 1962. Following graduation, Claudia went to work in the real estate industry. She was a skilled broker for many years and later in life was a successful realtor. In her younger years, Claudia loved bowling! She enjoyed time spent with family and relished making memories with friends. Claudia was a faithful Christian woman and was a member of Socastee Baptist Church- where she made life-long friends. Above all else, Claudia loved her family with her whole heart. She will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Claudia's memory are her adoring daughter, Joanna Macklen Causey of Conway; granddaughter, Bettyann Causey (Billy Fetter) of Conway; great-granddaughter, Macklen Fetter; sisters, Patricia Thomas of CT & Gwendolyn Mills of Socastee; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Claudia's life will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 1:00PM at Socastee United Methodist Church, 5575 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588. Burial will immediately follow within the church cemetery.
