Brewster & Shea Funeral & Cremation Service - ManchesterClaudia Laraine Pike Sendra, 84, resident of Mt. Tabor, VT, passed away on January 8, 2026.
Claudia was born on July 18, 1941 to the late Paul Edgar and Nellie Mae (Willis) Pike in Arlington, VT. She was the oldest of five children. After she graduated from Arlington Memorial High School in 1959, she met the love of her life, Joseph "Lanny" Sendra. They married during a snowstorm on February 4, 1961 in East Arlington, VT, and spent 64 years together before Lanny's passing just two weeks prior, December 24, 2025.
Claudia had an extreme passion for all persons and things that she cared about. She was selflessly dedicated to her family, friends, neighbors, community, and work – she loved deeply, and was loved and respected by many.
She dreamed of the ocean - enjoying her and Lanny's home on Prince Edward Island for 30 years, taking many trips to the coast of Maine, and eating seafood every chance she got - best clambakes!
She also enjoyed her many beloved pets, hummingbirds, gardening, riding her motorcycle, antiquing and crafting, balloon festivals, traveling, canoeing and fishing, family gatherings, and assisting her parents.
She worked many years for Wilcox Fuel and over 25 years at the Rutland Hospital.
Claudia is survived by all four siblings: Carol (Pike) O’Dell of Shaftsbury, VT, Gerald Pike of Manchester Center, VT, Thomas Pike of Lebanon, TN, and Carrie Ann (Pike) Kiernan of Geneva, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews, for whom she adored.
Services will be held in the spring of 2026 at the convenience of the family, with burial at Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland VT.
In lieu of flowers, burial contributions in memory of Claudia may be sent payable to Carrie Kiernan through the office of Brewster-Shea Funeral Service, PO Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255.
