Shea Family Funeral Homes - BenningtonMalcolm Tifft, 62, a resident of Old West Road in Arlington, passed away February 20, 2026, at Split Rock Rehabilitation Center in the Bronx, NY, after a brief illness. Malcolm was born in Bennington, VT, on June 13, 1963, the son of the late Robert P. and Helen A. (Stone) Tifft. He attended local schools and graduated from Arlington Memorial High School.
Malcolm worked as a stone mason for many years for Roy McDermott Masonry and Glenn Sherman and Sons. He enjoyed fishing and, in his earlier years, hunting. He also liked working on cars, listening to country music, helping his brother Marcus work on his race car, and watching football.
Malcolm is survived by his brothers, Marcus Tifft of North Bennington and Travis Tifft of Arlington, VT; his nephew and niece, Lance Tifft and Brittany Tifft, both of North Bennington; his great-nephew, Lance Tifft Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen Tifft; his brother, Trevor Tifft; and his niece, Kitley Tifft.
A celebration of life for Malcolm will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT.
