Claudine Lacy Obituary

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Mrs. Claudine Lacy, 94 of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

Claudine was born June 26, 1930 in Cookeville to the late Clarence and Jewel Phy Carrington. She graduated from Cookeville Central High in 1948.

In November of 1948 she married James Lacy. She supported James in his career and in his service to Rotary Club, culminating in their selection as International Rotary President and First Lady in 1999. In this capacity they traveled the world for the organization. They were married nearly 75 years at the time of James’s passing in October 2023.

Claudine enjoyed attending Lunch Bunch meetings with her close friends and often lamented the fact she was the last living member of their group. She also enjoyed cooking, looking out for her family and attending church. She was a member of Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 40 years

Claudine is survived by her son, Bill Lacy and his wife, Susie of Kansas City and cousins Richard and Angela Presley of Nashville and Mack and Faye Huddleston of Cookeville.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 26, at 12:00 p.m. at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rev. Christian Smith and Rev. Charles McCaskey will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Claudine’s life.

In lieu of flowers her family suggests donations to the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 565 East 10th Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.
