Mrs. Claudine Iris Wall Payne, 85, passed away Monday, January 10, 2023, at Priddy Manor Assisted Living in King. Claudine Wall Payne was born on April 11, 1937, in Stokes County to Gladys Vernon Wall and Iris Ruth Brown Wall. She grew up around her Father's Gulf station in Pinnacle NC where she built upon her love of people. She got her talent of playing the piano from her Mother. Claudine played for many weddings and the old Kingswood United Methodist Church (now Saint James). After attending Women's College, she married her childhood sweetheart had a brief career with R J Reynolds Tobacco Co until March 27, 1972 and made the decision to make her career a "stay at home mom." She did everything a Mother could do and more. She was an amazing person, woman and Mother and will be missed greatly. She was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall. She loved her church and community and cherished all friendships planted and grown from both. She loved her cats, enjoyed watching her birds, planting her flowers and painting her ceramic Santas. Claudine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph Richard Payne. She is survived by one daughter Leah Allison Payne Boyles (Robert) of Rural Hall. Special thank you to Priddy Manor and Mountain Valley Hospice for all your care. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday January 14, 2023, at Kingswood United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Updyke officiating. Memorials may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church fund 6840 University Pkwy. Rural Hall NC, 27045 or Forsyth Humane Society 4881 Country Club Rd Winston-Salem NC, 27104.
