Mrs. Mary Claudine Neal Whitworth, age 92 of Quebeck, passed away at 3:25pm Friday, January 6, 2023 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta.
Claudine was born April 9, 1930 in Quebeck to the late Claude Eugene and Betty Miller McBride Neal. She was a retired teacher serving Doyle School and 22 years at Bondecroft Head Start. She loved to crochet, knit and can vegatables in the summer. Claudine was affectionately known as Mimi to her large family and above all else, she loved serving her Lord. Some of the last words she spoke were the words of her daily prayer.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Joe Whitworth; son Don Whitworth; grandson Toby James Whitworth and two sisters Lola Slatten and Betty Jean Simmons.
Surviving family members include her four children, James (Joene) "Jim" Whitworth, Eddie (Cynthia) Whitworth, Tom (Rita) Whitworth and Nickie Cantrell
Twelve grandchildren
Thirteen great-grandchildren
Two step-grandchildren
Daughter-in-law: Elaina Whitworth
Sisters: Kathleen Rogul, Ruby Bennett, Zelma Brandenburg, Deamie Wilhite and Leta Humphrey
Brothers: Jim Neal and Joe Neal
Several nieces and nephews also survive
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Crain Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bob Scoggins will officiate.
