It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Clay Coker McBee Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life peacefully at his home in Sandia, Texas, surrounded by his loving family, on August 2, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 1, 1940, in Dilley, Texas, Clay was the cherished son of Frances Estelle McBee (Smith) and Clay Coker McBee Sr. He devoted his life to the agricultural community as a knowledgeable and dedicated Farm and Ranch Manager, embodying a work ethic and passion for the land that he instilled in his family. Above all, Clay was a loving husband, father and a doting Pawpaw and Great-Pawpaw, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Clay was preceded in death by his devoted parents and three sisters: Anna Maurine Machen, Lillian Marie Brown, and Peggy Jean Hermes-Gilmore. He was also predeceased by his grandson, Randy Clay McBee Jr., and his granddaughter, Neveah Jansky.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Roylene McBee, son, Randy Clay McBee Sr. and daughter-in-law Erin Meagan McBee of Village Mills, Texas; his daughter, Kristi June McBee of Mathis, Texas; and his son, Roy Leslie McBee and daughter-in-law Cherie Celeste McBee of Poteet, Texas. Clay is also survived by his two brothers, Ronald Ray McBee and wife Rhonel Meckel McBee of Lubbock, Texas, and Arnold Jay McBee and wife Nancy Harris McBee of Cypress, Texas. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, alongside numerous other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward. Funeral services will be held on August 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church of Dilley, where family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Clay's remarkable life. Interment in Dilley Cemetery will follow the service, allowing for a peaceful farewell and reflection on the legacy he leaves behind. In this time of remembrance, may we find comfort in the love and memories shared, as we celebrate the life of Clay C. McBee Jr.
