Calvin Clay Smith
March 10, 1983 – July 18, 2025
Calvin Clay Smith calmly passed on to his Heavenly Father, his grandparents, and dear friends on Friday night, July 18, 2025. Clay was born March 10, 1983, and spent his entire life in Springville, Utah.
He is survived by his loving family: his mother and stepfather, Connie Tilton Park and Larry Richard Park; his father and stepmother, Craig Glenn Smith and Colleen King Smith; his sister, Kayla Johnson (Ryan); brother, Jacob Smith (Jade); stepsister, Amber Bascom (Kreston); and stepbrothers, Jesse Wilson (Mandy) and Garrett Wilson. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and most importantly, his beloved son, Ryan Matthew Smith.
Clay was an avid hunter and fisherman who found joy in the outdoors. He cherished time spent camping and adventuring outside. A proud Boy Scout, he attended many scout camps with his father starting from a young age. He graduated from Springville High School and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Clay had a heart for helping others. Known as a skilled mechanic, he frequently stopped to assist stranded drivers, never hesitating to lend a hand. After suffering an industrial accident that left him disabled, Clay chose not to rely on disability. Instead, he built a successful pest control business through sheer hard work and dedication, earning clients from Logan, Utah to Mesquite, Nevada.
He was also a talented reloader and sharpshooter-his handcrafted bullets were trusted by many family and friends. Whether at the hunting camp or the card table, Clay's sense of humor, sharp mind, and incredible storytelling were always on full display. His smile, laugh, and kindness will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Our family would like to thank the oncologist teams, doctors, staff members and all caregivers for the incredible service and loving care given to Clay during his stay at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Also we would like to thank the staff of the Cascades at the Orchards Care Facility in Orem for their devoted service and tender care given to Clay.
