Clay Johnson, 63, of Batavia, IL passed away peacefully on January 26, 2024. Clay was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Jessie (Gustafson) Johnson and his beloved wife of 26½ years, Jodi Borger. He will be dearly missed by his sons, Bram and Rory Borger-Johnson; his siblings, Steve and Kenneth Johnson and Beth Helmerich; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Also his sister in law Jann (Stacy) Curtis.
Clay loved God and his family very much. He enjoyed composing, teaching and performing music and put his music degree from Concordia to good use as a choir director and as an accompanist and soloist for many musical shows and community/church functions. In addition to music, he loved to cook, read (science fiction, fantasy, mystery) and was an avid movie fan. For the past twenty-five years, Clay was blessed to earn his living doing something he truly loved (and excelled at) – coding and solving problems as a web designer.
The funeral service for Clay is Sunday, February 4, 2024 at the United Methodist Church of Geneva. A brief visitation will be held starting at 12:30. The service begins at 1:00. After the service, you are invited to continue visiting in the church's Fellowship Hall where a light lunch will be served.

I interviewed Clay for a web developer position in the early 2000. He came across as a good guy, with lots of vibrancy. Will miss you man.
