Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Roberts and Iduma Gill King; his 5 brothers, H.G. Roberts, Bobby A. Roberts, Lofton Roberts, Paul E. Roberts and Boyd Roberts; and 3 sisters, Vera Lyons, Clara Graves and Jane Hulbert.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Walker Roberts; his daughters, Myra Hood (Danny) of Biloxi, Cathy Spain (Mark) of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Diana Waring (Charlie) of Dallas, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Candace Spain-Smith (Scott), Levi Hood (Amber), Hannah Lucero (Steven), Meredith Brown (David) and Molly Waring; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Mosley (Don) of Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Roberts was a native of the MS Gulf Coast and a long-time resident of Woolmarket. He graduated from Woolmarket Agriculture School. He then served in the US Marine Corps for 3 years and then retired as a Chief Builder (BUC) after 17 years of service in the US Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran serving on 2 tours, Meritorious field promotion to 1st Class Petty Officer, and was also awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. He then worked as a supervisor in the military for 20 years, and then for 8 years with Tri-Craft Painting.
Mr. Roberts enjoyed woodworking and was a skilled cabinet maker. He taught his sons-in-law to work with wood. He kept of pocket full of mints for the children at church and a bowl full of candy for the neighborhood children and grandchildren. He was an active and faithful member of Woolmarket Baptist Church. He loved his God, his family, and his country.
Friends are invited to join the Roberts family for visitation and services on Monday, February 14th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Roberts will then be laid to rest with military honors at Coalville Cemetery.

Dear Aunt Dorothy, Cathy and Myra,
Please accept my condolences. It is always difficult to know what to say or share upon the passing of a family member or friend. But, I want you to know that I will always remember Uncle Robbie as a man who cared for his wife and his beloved daughters. I will always remember him as being a strong and vibrant man. I wish I had stayed in touch with all of you but life has a tendency of creating "what ifs" or "if onlys". Please know that all of you have been on my daily prayer lists for years. You are in my heart and mind. I am very sorry for the loss of your husband and your father.
