Clelia (Pesco) Millstead, 95, of Evansville, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Clelia was born in Palermo Sicily, Italy, on February 23, 1929 to the late Salvatore and Petrina (Cordura) Pesco. She married and came to the United States after meeting Paul Watterson during World War II. They had two children, Rosalia Watterson and James Watterson. Clelia later met Clyde Millstead and they were married in 1968 and were married nearly 52 years until he passed on April 6, 2020. Clelia retired from Bristol Myers Squibb in the Research Laboratory in 1987. A devout Roman Catholic since childhood, she enjoyed attending masses at various parishes across Evansville. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. Clelia will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Clelia is survived by her son, James Watterson (Susan) of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Alan Wayman, Melissa Wayman, Jamie Wayman, Amy Watterson and Bryan Watterson; four great grandchildren, nephew, Richard Moscato (Karen) of New York; nieces and nephews from Italy; sister-in-law, Maxine Houchin and three nieces from Evansville, IN.
Clelia was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Watterson; second husband, Clyde Millstead; daughter, Rosalia Watterson; parents; and by five brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Clelia's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Oak Hill Mausoleum with Father Jason Gries officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
