Clema May Davis, daughter of James and Addie (Admire) Lowery, was born September 17, 1936, in Grovespring, Missouri and entered her Heavenly home on July 14, 2025, at her home in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years.
Clema made a profession of faith early in life and lived her life accordingly. She faithfully attended Millcreek Baptist Church for many years and treasured the fellowship shared with her church family.
On September 19, 1954, she was united in marriage with her forever love, Ferrell M. Davis. To this union was born one daughter, Cindy. Prior to Ferrell's passing on Christmas Eve of 2019, they had shared sixty-five years of love and laughter, triumph and tears side by side.
Although her top priority was tending to the needs of her family, she also had a variety of hobbies. She enjoyed listening to music of all genres and Sunday morning sermons. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and feeding the hummingbirds. She kept her mind active with word search puzzles and played all sorts of games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew they could always find a candy dish full of "Smarties" to satisfy their sweet tooth, when they went to grandma's house. She loved her life and the people in it. Time spent and memories shared with her family, is what she treasured most.
Clema is survived by one daughter, Cindy Payne and her significant other, Mike Crocker; two grandchildren, Jacob Payne and his wife Stephanie and Kayla Smothers and her husband Jason; six great-grandchildren, Covington, GraceLynn and Anson Payne and Kaliber, Millicent and Gauge Smothers; three siblings, Joann Dugan of Long Lane, MO, Jayma Lowery and Paul Lowery and his wife, Glenda, all of Lebanon, MO; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband on December 24, 2019; siblings, Dortha Aulgur, Ruby Myers and Janice Berger; and one great-grandson, Ellison Payne.
Clema was so many things to so many of us. The legacy she left behind will keep her memory alive. She will be deeply missed until we meet again.
Memorials have been suggested to Clema's family.
Donations may be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel, PO Box 948, 1001 Lynn Street, Lebanon, MO 65536.
