Clendon M. Hamby, 78 of Cumming, GA passed away August 17, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Clendon was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and was born in Cumming, GA to the late M.L. & Ruby Mae Bolton Hamby. Mr. Hamby was a man of faith. He was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was baptized in July, 1957. Clendon was a family man first and foremost. Clendon worked for the family business, Hamby’s Garage, his entire life with his father, brothers, sister, son, nephews and nieces. He never met a stranger and loved spending time at Daytona Beach with his family and friends.
Mr. Hamby is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty McBrayer Hamby; sons and daughter in-laws, Tim & Dawn Hamby, Daniel & Ashlea Hamby; grandchildren, Haley Fitzgerald, Eric Fitzgerald, Gracie Thomas, Bryce Thomas, Bradlee Hamby, Carter Hamby, Ethan Hamby; a great granddaughter on the way, Ruby Mae Fitzgerald; sister and brother in-law, Linda & Greg Wallis; brothers and sisters in-law, Tommy & Delores Hamby, Terry Joe & Vickie Hamby; sister in-law and brother in-law, Eva Mae & Winford Bennett; sister in-law, Delores Bennet, Becky McBrayer; brother in-law, Carroll McBrayer; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, August 19, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Ruel Martin, Rev. Craig Richard, and Rev. Scott Sorrels officiating. Interment will follow at SawneeView Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040. In lieu of flowers please make donations in honor of Mr. Clendon Hamby to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
