Cleon Kaye Henderson

Cleon Kaye Henderson, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 14, 2025, in Pontiac, Michigan. Born on April 20, 1934, in Utica, Michigan, Cleon lived a long and fulfilling life marked by devotion to his family and service to his country.
Cleon's proudest accomplishment was his family. He shared over 70 years of marriage with his beloved wife Sandy-a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together they raised four children: Dawn (Ron) Price, Steve (Cheryl) Henderson, Terri (Bob aka RJ) Breit, and Bobby (Allison) Henderson. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Courtney (Brian), Krystle (Matt), Amber, Andrea (Ryan), Ashleigh (Matt), Kelsie (Mike), Rachel (Chance), and Robby (Chelsea). Cleon was overjoyed to become a great-grandfather-affectionately known as "Papa" or "G-Papa"-to Jacob, Reese, Easton, Simone, Owen, Karson, Ellie, Olivia, Julien, Zanye, Sophie, and Blaire.
He is also survived by his brother Gary Henderson; sister Marilou Uhl; sister-in-law Wanda (Vito); and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
A proud veteran of the United States Army and Reserves, Cleon served his country with honor for five years. After completing his military service, he pursued a skilled trade and successfully completed an apprenticeship in welding. His dedication and craftsmanship led to a distinguished career at General Motors – Pontiac, where he worked for over 38 years. He retired more than three decades ago as a respected Metal Model Maker Group Leader.
Cleon's life was enriched by the things he loved most: time spent at his lake house "up north," camping adventures with Sandy in their fifth-wheel during their 30 winters in Florida, gardening in the sunshine, road trips-including a memorable journey to Utah-and countless family visits to Disney World. He had an easy smile and a friendly word for everyone he met; truly a friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his father Cleon "Hank" Henderson; Ardys Clark; Inez Henderson; Jean Henderson; sisters Carol and Barbara; and loving in-laws Gilbert "Butch" and Emma Luebke.
Cleon Kaye Henderson leaves behind a legacy of love rooted deeply in family values and hard work. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire many generations to come.
