Cliff Maki

Robert Clifford Maki, 98, Coleraine, died Friday, October 17, 2025, in Home & Comfort, Coleraine.
Born March 26, 1927, in Balkan Township, he was the son of Edwin J. and Sadie (Tapio) Maki. He had been a resident of Balkan Twsp., Nashwauk, Coleraine, and Grand Rapids. Cliff and Almeda Danielson were married on June 25, 1949, in the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of Bovey. He owned and operated Cliff Maki Body Shop in Coleraine, had been a member of the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church of Bovey, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Itasca Ski and Outing Club, the V.F.W., the Coleraine Civic Club, and the Greenway Lions Club. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WW II.
His parents; his wife, Almeda; a son, Larry; siblings, Vivian Sherer, Mildred Cooper, and Russell; and his friend and companion, Lorraine Makinen preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, James (Jan) Maki, Debra (Daniel) DeGuiseppi, and Douglas (Susan) Maki; seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers, Rayno (Maxine) Maki and Kenny (Norma) Maki; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home & Comfort of Coleraine for their excellent care given to Cliff.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 PM funeral service on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in the Triumphant Life Church, 1307 Autum Lane, Coleraine. Interment with military honors will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
