It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clifford E. Allen, Sr. at age 94. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he raised his family in East Brunswick, NJ before moving to Pearl River, LA in the late 80's. He died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
He was a proud professional truck driver for 75 years, a career that he loved. He was the owner of C. Allen Trucking before finally retiring at age 92. He was a long-haul driver for many years before he most recently drove a dump truck locally. He was also a skilled diesel mechanic.
His longevity is likely attributed to his many interests and hobbies over the years.... or maybe it was the Jack Daniels? He was known around Pearl River for his bright blue 1953 Ford pickup truck that he had restored. He took trips across and around the country many times by motorcycle. He enjoyed traveling to the annual ATHS antique truck shows. He enjoyed boating, fishing, horses, reading, western movies, and country music. He served in a Mardi Gras club in Slidell. Most recently, he enjoyed lunch, laughs, and conversation with his friends at the Pearl River Senior Center.
He was always willing to help others in need with his handyman skills and mechanical abilities. His good deeds were rewarded with returned favors and the many friendships he made over the years.
He was a loyal owner and constant companion to his precious dogs Penny (R.I.P.), Chivas (R.I.P) and Princess.
Special thanks to all of his nephews and nieces, and to his friends Hiram Flynn and KC Kaylene Creed, who helped him when he needed it most.
He was the son of Edwin C. And Elizabeth H. (Frost) Allen. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine Allen, infant son John Allen, daughter Gail Allen and, son Roy Allen. He leaves behind his remaining children Clifford Allen, Jr. and his wife Diana, Patricia Zeller, Linda Allen and her partner Mike Fogarty, Loretta Allen and Doris Allen. He had 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was beloved by his many nieces and nephews.
A memorial get-together for his southern friends and family will be planned for January 10th in Louisiana. A memorial get-together for his northern friends and family will be planned for February 27th in New Jersey. Details to follow.
Arrangements were provided by Bagnell & Son Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Burial Park, Cranbury-South River Road, Jamesburg, NJ.

What kind of arrangement is appropriate, where should you send it, and when should you send an alternative?
