Clifford Chambers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home - East Louisville on Oct. 14, 2025.
Clifford D. Chambers, 82, passed away peacefully at his Louisville home on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
After spending the past 20 years in Miramar Beach, Florida, Cliff and his wife Anne, of 59 years, moved to Louisville to be close to their children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Cliff was born on July 4, 1943, in Athens, Georgia and grew up in Berea, Kentucky with his parents James and Alice Chambers.
After graduating from Berea High School, he attended Eastern Kentucky University and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. He then joined the US Air Force and became an F4 Phantom Fighter Pilot and later served with the Air National Guard in Louisville, Kentucky. He also spent 37 years as the owner and operator of Britton Chevrolet in Berea. He was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Berea.
Cliff had an infectious personality and genuine kindness that attracted anyone that had the opportunity to meet him. His family and lifelong friends always said that "to know him was to love him". During his 20 years in Florida, he and Anne turned acquaintances into cherished friendships. Cliff loved his family and friends dearly.
He enjoyed playing golf, long walks on the beach, entertaining family and friends in Florida, working part-time at Tommy Bahama, and his weekly Companion Program visits with his dear friend Jason.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Anne, his 2 children, Britt (Tammy) and Leslie (Phil) and grandchildren, Ben, Abby and Hayden, sister-in-law, Jayne Smith (Terry), their son Casey, and a very fond nephew, Lewis Shirley and wife Tessa. He will be greatly missed by all, especially his faithful dog, Aggie Blu.
The family is grateful to Hosparus Health and the many friends and family that showed Cliff so much love.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 4pm – 7pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7pm at Ratterman Brothers East Louisville Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Hosparus Health Louisville

I´m so very sorry to hear about Cracker. There are so many wonderful childhood memories that I have with him. His "beach shirt", that he wore on the trip down to Garden City, when he and dad tried to cook a weekly dinner when they lived next door, and many more. He was always our favorite, and I know that he meant so much to dad. I´ll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. Love you all
