Robert Dale Gibson

Robert Dale Gibson, (81) of Versailles, husband of Sallie Gay Gibson died on November 1, 2025. Mr. Gibson owned L&G Karnes Wallpaper with his wife and retired from Kentucky state government. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 11, 1944 to the late Addison and Hazel Gibson. Mr. Gibson graduated from Berea High School before serving in the Airforce for four years. He went on to graduate from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Gibson was an avid sports fan, reader, golfer, PA announcer for many Woodford County sports teams, statistician for Woodford County basketball teams, and loved watching athletic events. He was a member of Versailles Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his four children: Bob Gibson (Jennifer), David Gibson (Jennifer), James Gibson (Marni), and Sara Gibson-West (Brad); eleven grandchildren, sister (Nancy Ellis), sister-in-law (Pat Sutherland), cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Versailles Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 21st from 4-6 pm with a service to follow from 6-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodford Humane Society or Versailles Presbyterian Church.
