Hi. I just found Kip's obituary. I worked for him at the bank in 1978 for a few weeks. I was 22 and had just graduated from VCU. He called me his "hippie" secretary. What a sense of humor! A few months later I ran into him at International Safeway. He was racing around trying to find a birthday cake for his wife (that's you Susan!) and I helped him. It was hiarious. Some people just stand out.

Susan and Chrissie,
My heart breaks for the two of you. There are so many, many wonderful memories of you and Kip over the years. What a gentleman and dear person he was. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I loved that man, and I love his wife and daughter who survive him. To recycle a quotation from Andy Jaspen (upon another good friend's passing): "We are all far cooler for having known Kip Bachtell." My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Susan and Christina,
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Bo enjoyed working with Kip over the many years on RRPC finances. He will be missed by many. Sorry we can't be with you at this time, as we will not be back in Virginia until early April.

Susan and Christina,
My thoughts are with you both with your loss. Kip will always be in my thoughts, he was a good friend and I will miss his dry humor and great laugh. May you both recall all the fun times at Virginia Beach and New Years day at the Bachtell's was the event of of the holiday season. Please let me know what I can do for you both.
Much love, Nivek

I was very sorry to hear about Mr. Bachtell, you both will be in my thoughts and prayers. Though I have not seen much of you all in recent years, you both were always so kind to inquire about Mother and how she was doing, in her latter years. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
