Hi. I just found Kip's obituary. I worked for him at the bank in 1978 for a few weeks. I was 22 and had just graduated from VCU. He called me his "hippie" secretary. What a sense of humor! A few months later I ran into him at International Safeway. He was racing around trying to find a birthday cake for his wife (that's you Susan!) and I helped him. It was hiarious. Some people just stand out.

I loved that man, and I love his wife and daughter who survive him. To recycle a quotation from Andy Jaspen (upon another good friend's passing): "We are all far cooler for having known Kip Bachtell." My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Susan and Christina,
Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Bo enjoyed working with Kip over the many years on RRPC finances. He will be missed by many. Sorry we can't be with you at this time, as we will not be back in Virginia until early April.

I was very sorry to hear about Mr. Bachtell, you both will be in my thoughts and prayers. Though I have not seen much of you all in recent years, you both were always so kind to inquire about Mother and how she was doing, in her latter years. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
