Clifton Wynn “Wynn” Calvin, age 62, of Newport, formally of Garden City passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Born on February 14, 1963, in Wyandotte he was the son of Floyd and Beverly (Steiner) Calvin. Wynn attended Jefferson High School. He married Kelly (Gennoe) Sovey on June 30, 1984. They made their home in Newport. Though divorced they remained friends raising their daughters (Angie and Amanda) together with love and grace. Wynn had another daughter (Ashley) with Debra Clough though the two never married she held a special place in his heart. For six years Wynn made a home with Kathleen Respondeck and was blessed with two more children. (Corbin and Shaylie) Throughout his life Wynn had many different careers. He was the manager at Duff’s Smorgasbord until it was destroyed by fire in 1989. Wynn worked in real estate and would often boast “he owned the whole block of houses”. He worked at Worthington Steel for many years. In the past few decades he found his true passion in car sales. No matter where he worked he would always made friends. He had a quick wit, friendly personality and an incredible sense of humor. He accepted everyone for who they were and never passed judgment. Wynn loved the Detroit Lion and the Detroit Red Wings. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He was a huge animal lover starting at a young age with his beloved pet cow Knothead. Wynn’s love for dogs was unmatched. Often treating family and friends pets like his own. He had a passion for camping, fishing, bonfires and a good western. Wynn loved spending time with his family. Always the life of the party filling the room with laughter while teasing his nieces and nephews. Wynn will sadly be missed. Wynn is survived by his five loving children Angela (Alan) Huffman, Amanda (Jesse Hyder) Calvin, Ashley (Dustin) Clark, Corbin Calvin and Shaylie Calvin. He was a proud grandparent, leaving behind seven adoring grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, Alyssa, Zane, Payton, Azalea and Aurelia. Wynn had a close bond with all of his siblings Kimberly Calvin, Charles Calvin, Sherri (Roy) Collins, and Shawn Calvin as well as a sister in law Linda Calvin. Wynn proceeds in death by parents and beloved brother John Calvin, niece Stephanie and nephew Tyler. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and their memories will forever remain with those who survive him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will continue to resound in the hearts of all, who knew him. Wynn’s spirit will forever live on through the joy he brought into the world the love he shared with those around him
