Clifton Dingley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home - Braintree on Apr. 15, 2025.
Clifton P. Dingley, of Quincy, a quiet, humble soul, passed away at home on April 11, 2025, at the age of 90.
A graduate of Skowhegan Maine High School, Clifton made a name for himself as a star wrestler, demonstrating early on the determination and strength that would characterize his entire life. Following his high school years, he proudly served his nation by enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a skilled mechanic on aircraft radio equipment and guided missiles.
After his military service, Clifton transitioned to civilian life, working in the electrical and mechanical field until retirement.
Clifton was a great swing dancer, often found leading his beloved wife of 57 years across the dance floor with flair.
He had a keen interest in the natural world as evidenced by his fascination with cartography, history, and meteorology.
An outdoorsman at heart, Clifton cherished nature in all its forms. He loved being outdoors, regardless of the weather, and found solace in the simple pleasure of tending to his garden or tinkering with his car. His love for sports was undeniable, and he was an avid fan of both football and hockey.
Clifton is survived by three daughters and two grandchildren, who will remember him for his silly sense of humor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, April 17th, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 18th, at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clifton's name to the Home for Our Troops, 6 Main St, Taunton, MA 02780.
