Laurie Lynn Smith, 59 known to her daughter as Mumzie passed away on December 3 2021 after fighting so courageously. She was born in Martinez California on May 13th 1962 with fiery red hair.Laurie was the last to be born to a family of 10 and was put up for adoption.
Laurie was adopted by Charles and Gene Kombs who had a son Jimmy and would later have another son Charles Jr after adopting Laurie.
As a child she would get bullied for being a redhead but as she grew up it became her signature to her spirit which was charismatic and outgoing. She also had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that could light up a room.
She began to have a love for nails at an early age. She decided to do what she loved to do for a living and became a nail technician for the next 20 years. Her love for collecting nail polish continued up until her passing. She also loved cats greatly. She pretty much always had one and shared this love with her daughter Carrera over the years.
Laurie and her daughter Carrera had an unbreakable bond. Laurie would tell Carrera often how much she prayed to God to have a little girl like her.
While living in Tulsa Oklahoma in her 20s She attended Victory Christian College which she was so proud of, so proud that she would mention it every time she attended Victory church or drove by OKC campus that she went to school there.
Laurie loved to read and sing. She loved learning new words and looking them up, But the most amazing thing about Laurie was her love and passion for Christ and how relentless her Faith was no matter what she was through at the time. She always looked to God for peace and understanding.
Laurie touched many lives over the years with her determination, kindness and humor. She is survived by her daughter.
Laurie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
