After a two-year battle with Alzheimer's disease, Clinton Z. Edge passed away on Wednesday, 10 November 2021, at the Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, Texas. Clinton was 93 years old and lived a long and fulfilling life.


Clinton was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Ruby and Zeb Edge on 29 April 1928.


Clinton joined the US Army at a young age and served his country for more than thirty years as a combat engineer. He attended the NCO Academy in Ulm, Germany, was deployed to Guam, and served three combat tours in Viet Nam. Clinton was a company First Sergeant in the 299th Engineer Battalion when he retired at Fort Hood, Texas in 1972.


After retiring from the US Army, he started his second career at Austin National Bank (now Bank of America) in Austin, Texas. After 20 years with Bank of America he retired again and became a Maps RV Volunteer.


In 1948, Clinton married Mae Kuykendall in Wheeler County, Texas. They traveled around the country to the many Army posts where he was stationed.


He is survived by his wife Mae and daughter Darlene of Austin, grandsons Erik Huebner of Austin, Daniel Huebner and wife Kim and sons Aldo (Thorn) and Benjamin of San Marcos, Texas, Sisters Carolyn Sipes (Darell), and Jimmy Lou Kessee of Missouri. Sister-in-Law, Martha Kuykendall of Amarillo, Brother-in-Law Bill Kuykendall of Dumas. nephews Larry Kuykendall (Stephanie) of Amarillo and Scot Kuykendall of Dumas, niece Jean McDaniel (Whit) of Dumas. Donald Huebner is Erik's and Daniel's father.


There will be a graveside service at 3:00 pm on Thursday, 18 November 2021 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Killeen Texas
