Clinton O'Connor "Sonny" Vaughn, loving husband, father, and resident of Denham Springs, LA passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. He was 95 years old. Sonny was a World War II veteran with the US Navy and was awarded the Victory Medal and American Area Campaign Medal.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Gray's Creek Baptist Church, 21039 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA with Brother Carl Sullivan as officiant. Graveside services and Military Honors, performed by the U.S. Navy, will follow in the church cemetery.
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Gray's Creek Baptist Church, 21039 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA.
He is survived by his five children, Teresa (Tommy) Gandy, Jerry (Dianne) Vaughn, Clark (Frances) Vaughn, Vicky (Howard) Hall and Sandra Vaughn; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Margie Ree Clark Vaughn; parents, Edgar Vaughn and Annie Brisco; two sisters, Maxine Hackleberg and Sylvia Smith; brother, Sidney Brisco.
Pallbearers will be Hunter and Drake Coupel, Chance Vaughn, Colt Vaughn, Brent Vaughn and Brody Vaughn.
He was a devoted servant of God and was loved by all for his soft heart, loving sense of humor and gentle spirit.
The family would like to express special thanks to the St Joseph Carpenter House Hospice nursing and staff.
Church Funeral Services of Walker is in charge of the arrangements.
