Hello,
Many of you have known me through the years as, Pastor Moore, Brother Moore, Cloyd, Dad and Papal. People would say that I was a form of light in their lives in some way. But, little do they know how big of a light they were in the 81 years of my life that God blessed me with on this earth.
I was born in Pennsylvania to a coalminer and a homemaker on October 12th, 1943. I was one of 5 children born to Irvin & Gladys Moore (Mason). My childhood was filled with love, laughter, sadness and adventures. Which all became advice, guidance or a great story that I used in many of my sermons throughout the years. At the age of 17 God called me into the ministry. I was an evangelist for many years and then a Pastor of several churches in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
During my ministry I met my wife Chyleen B. Thompson whom I married on October 25th, 1975. God had placed the most beautiful, loving, spiritual and patient wife in my life. (God knew that my wife definitely had to be patient to put up with my shenanigans!). Chyleen had a beautiful singing voice that she used in her ministry of Worship and Praise. Our life and Ministery together led us to meet and fellowship with so many people throughout the years from across the United States.
Chyleen and I both wanted to become parents, but after several miscarriages we thought it just wasn't going to happen. We both put our faith in God and prayed for children. God answered our prayers and gave us a daughter that we showered with all our love. Due to health issues, we weren't able to have any more children. But we knew we wanted to have more. So, we prayed and asked God for guidance and we decided to foster a child. Well, God had different plans for us. Instead of fostering one child he blessed our hearts and home with four siblings. Three daughters and a son. We loved being parents. We gave our children all our love and taught them about God and his word.
Our five children grew up to become parents themselves and blessed us with fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. My grandchildren have given me so much joy, love and laughter through the years. I know God will continue to watch over my children their spouses and all my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When I am called home to stand beside my Lord and Savior and to be the reunited with my wife who was called home in 2002.
On November 7th, 2024, God called me home. I was given 81 years in this vessel. For 64 of those years, I was able to spread the word of God and his love. Everyone that came into my life became a light for me to be able to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am forever grateful. I want my children, grandchildren and family to know that I will continue to love and pray for you all in Heaven just as I did here on Earth. May God bless you all like he blessed me.
Forever and a Day
With Love,
Cloyd E. Moore

Brother Moore guided me into ministry. He gave me the opportunity to be the youth pastor and associate Pastor under his ministry at the Lincoln Park Church of God. He was a good man and an anointed man of God. I loved listening to him preach. I know he´s in Gods presence. Maybe we will get to play golf together in heaven.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pastor Moore through his daughter, Sylvia. I met her when she was a student in high school. Been over 20 yrs. An everlasting friendship.. Sylvia had a wonderful father. I will always remember the smile on his face. It lit up the room. He was always such a very kind person. I never saw him, without that smile ! He was very kind , even if you knew him for 10 minutes or 10 years.! He also adorned his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. One memory was spending Christmas at Sylvias home. Everyone was there. The children were there, the grandchildren , spouses, friends and Pastor Moore. The food was awsome, the sweets were sweet ! But the best and everlasting memory was , we were all there, together. And you ate so much food, you wanted to lay down on the floor, and didnt care if anyone walked over you !! Sylvia and I also drove out to visit Pastor Moore at his daughters house in Monroe. A quick stop to just sit and chit chat. Those were the best of the best times. I will always hold the memories of Pastor Moore near my heart . The Pastor with the sweet kind smile, and gentle ways. I miss him , always will. Love always, Mimsy.
