Cloyse LeRoy Lundie, age 93, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025. He was born on May 22, 1932, in Owosso Michigan, to the late Phillip Malcolm Lundie and Dorothy Arlene (nee') Cushman. He and Shirley (nee' Crego) were married for 62 years until her death in 2016.

A proud graduate of Owosso High School, Cloyse furthered his education at Mott Community College, laying the foundation for a life of service and entrepreneurship. His professional journey was marked by his retirement from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources where he was a dedicated employee. Cloyse's entrepreneurial spirit shone through brightly as he and Shirley owned and operated Western Auto and Lundie's Sports Depot in Durand, serving the community with a smile and handshake for over 25 years.

Cloyse's commitment to service extended beyond his professional endeavors. Cloyse served proudly in the US Navy. He was a Volunteer Conservation Officer, held MUCC District leadership positions and was a life member of both the Shiawassee Conservation Association & Durand Sportsman's Club. His Rotary Club membership spanned an impressive 55 years, during which he exemplified the values of fellowship and service. He Served with the Chamber of Commerce for many years and was also honored by them, by being named Durand Citizen of the Year. A lifelong athlete of many, many sports, he was also a fervent supporter of local and youth sports, having coached many youth teams and refereeing every sport.

Cloyse's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He was a CPL Instructor, and an avid trap shooter. His service on the Zoning Board of Appeals for over 20 years reflected his commitment to responsible community development. He had the distinction of being one of the longest serving Hunter Safety Instructors for the State of Michigan.

Cloyse was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was proud to hold the honor of being a 4th-degree Knight of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving children Teresa McKay (Don) of Durand, Dan Lundie (Shelby Bailer) of Eaton Rapids, David Lundie (Laurie) of Roscommon, and Lenore McMaster (Daniel) of Owosso. He is also survived by grandchildren, Aidan and Owen McMaster; step grandchildren Dawn Goetschy, Melinda McKay, Ashley Ruegsegger and Michael Hess, along with 12 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, brother Phillip, (Joanne) Lundie, several nieces and nephews and dedicated friend Ione Thomas.

Cloyse was predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley, his parents, brother Ronnie Lundie, sister Phyllis Gruver and step grandson Bart McKay.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 E. Oliver St., Owosso. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00pm-7:00pm at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home-Owosso Chapel, 520 W. Main St., Owosso. A Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Chalice service will be held at 7pm.
