Clyde Joseph Becnel Jr.

Clyde "Sonny" Becnel, Jr., passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 76. His son, Steven, was by Sonny's side during his lengthy bout with prostate cancer. Sonny was born in New Orleans. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Becnel Sr and step-mother JoRee Becnel, Gladys Cazalot and step-father Albert Cazalot. He is survived by his two sons Shawn and Steven, granddaughter Brianna, sister Glenda (Ed), and brothers Kevin and Corey. Sonny served four years in the Navy. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retirement. He loved his family, dogs, motorcycles, fireworks, firearms, and home cooking. He had a loving and giving heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001 for 1:00 PM. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
