Clyde Crooks Obituary

CROOKS Jr., Clyde Weber Clyde Weber Crooks, Jr, age 75 passed from his earthly life into the arms of Jesus on September 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 17, 1943 in Austin Texas to Clyde and Ruby Dee Crooks. He met the love of his life, Janette Gail Meador at a Valentines Day party in 1960. They married in 1961 and lived and loved each other for 57 wonderful years. He joined the United States Navy and proudly served our country. He provided for his family and worked for Charles Maund Oldsmobile/Cadillac as an automotive technician and retired after 40 years. He was an avid outdoors man and was happiest when he was hunting and fishing. He shared many joyous times with his family at the coast. He was the patriarch of his family and he loved them all dearly. He was devoted and true. The lessons he taught his family about life and love will be his legacy shared for generations to come. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Da-Da". He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a Sunday school teacher. Clyde lived a life of honor and integrity and was respected and dearly loved by all who knew him. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Clyde Weber and Ruby Dee Crooks and 2 sisters Katherine Cleveland and Willowease Whitwell. He is survived by his loving wife Janette; his son David and wife Traci, his daughter Diane and Bryan; 4 grandsons: Matthew and wife Adrienne, Cody, Dylan and David Jr. 2 great grandchildren Gabriel and Ava, his sister Edith Holland and brother Travis Crooks; his brother n law and dear friend, Bill Meador as well as many other relatives: nieces, nephews and cousins. We would like to thank everyone for your love and support to our family as we have traveled through this difficult time. His funeral service will be held at Cook-Walden Capitol Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660 on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Graveside will be at the historical Round Rock Cemetery on Sam Bass Road, Round Rock Texas. Visitation will be at Cook-Walden Capitol Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660 on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 5- 8 pm.
