Clyde was born in Waterloo, Seneca County, New York on April 1, 1937, to Clyde E. Newmiller, Sr., and Margaret Wagner Newmiller. Clyde was a true American patriot and was proud to serve his country as a member of the United States Naval Reserve after his high school graduation. Clyde later attended the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M to earn his doctorate in Psychology, and to further his education in Business Management.
In the 1970's, Dr. Newmiller relocated to Louisiana where he served as a professor in the business department at McNeese in Lake Charles. He was instrumental in McNeese earning accreditation and becoming McNeese State University, where he later became the head of the Business Department.
In his younger days, Clyde enjoyed working on and racing hot rod cars. He was raised in a household of aircraft enthusiasts, which led him to becoming a flight instructor and sharing his passion for flying to countless numbers of students for decades. Clyde was a proud and active member and volunteer of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) as well as a board member of the Jennings airport, 3R7. In 1989, Clyde moved to Lake Arthur with his wife and son in order to engage more fully in his other passion – sailing. Clyde was a member of the Lake Arthur Yacht Club for many years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Clyde "Trey" E. Newmiller, III and his wife Katie Newmiller of Texas, and a brother, Robert Newmiller of California.
Dr. Newmiller is preceded in death by his parents.
