Clyde Powers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Oct. 14, 2025.
Clyde Everett Powers, Jr., age 76, of Russellville, Mo., passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2025, surrounded by those he loved.
He was born on June 1, 1949, in Bonne Terre, Mo., one of nine children to the late Clyde Everett and Alma Juanita (Williford) Powers, Sr. On October 21, 1966, he was united in marriage to Mable Roberts in Farmington, Mo., who survives.
Growing up in Southeast Missouri, Clyde attended Doe Run High School. He began working as a young teenager to help provide for his family. His strong work ethic led him to start his own company, Osage Steel Erectors, which specialized in building and erecting metal buildings and structures. He dedicated his career to the business and retired in 2021.
Clyde had a deep appreciation for quietness and solitude. He spent much of his spare time navigating the Osage River, rod and reel baited and ready, or deep in the woods hunting deer, rabbit, and squirrel. His reserved spirit was most at peace when he was connecting with nature or watching a classic western show or film.
A proud gun enthusiast and sharpshooter, Clyde took great pride in his extensive gun collection. Always on the lookout for a good deal, he had a knack for finding things others might need someday. His generous spirit and devotion to caring for others-especially his family-were evident in everything he did. Brave and strong, with just the right amount of stubbornness, Clyde had a presence that made those around him feel safe. He will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Mable; special friend, Elaine Kimbough of Jefferson City; daughters, Tina O'Day (John) and Alisha Moore, both of Jefferson City; siblings, Mike Powers (Terry) of Atlanta, Ga., Gene Powers of Farmington, Mo., Casey Powers (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Mo., Karen Salina (Lupe) of Springfield, Mo., Lawana Helms of Atlanta, Ga., and Tim Powers of Osage City, Mo.; grandchildren, Raechel Ford, Taylor Powers-Gill (Cody), Cody Powers, Jeffrey O'Day, and Amia Moore; 8 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 3 sisters-in-law; and numerous members of his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Alma; son, Clyde Everett Powers, III; brother, Tony Powers; great-grandson, Skyland Gill; parents-in-law, Doris and Willis Roberts; and sister-in-law, Sheila Powers.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Freeman Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America, 290 Turnpike Road, Suite Westborough, MA 01581.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Freeman Mortuary.

I´m so very sorry to hear about Clyde´s passing. We worked together at JCI for years. I have so many memories with Clyde and Charlie also. Stories I still talk about and will forever. I learned a lot from Clyde mostly because he could build anything. He was a great leader of his crews even if he would get frustrated and then call them "Meat Heads". I´m sad I can´t be there today. God bless you all.
Your friend forever
