Clyde J Steeves, 73 of Plymouth passed away on October 31st, 2024 after a long courageous battle with COPD and congestive heart failure.
Clyde was born on November 12, 1950, in Brockton to the late Catherine Coleman and Clyde Steeves Sr. He was a proud graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1969, where he played Football and was a member of the first-ever suburban league basketball championship team. Clyde went on to attend Boston State College, where he graduated with a degree in physical education. Clyde was a semi-pro golfer for most of his life. He was a fixture at Doral Country Club and Pembroke Country Club where he taught and inspired countless students from beginners to seasoned players. Clyde had a teaching philosophy centered on patience, encouragement, and a love for the sport. Clyde not only helped players improve their skills but also fostered a deeper appreciation for golf as a lifelong pursuit.
He is survived by his wife Diane Steeves of Plymouth, MA, sons Ryan Clyde Steeves and Justin Steeves of Plymouth, and his daughter Jillian Alfone and her husband Patrick of Plymouth. He was the loving grandfather to Ainsley Rose Steeves and Cyrus Clyde Alfone.
Clyde was a selfless man who loved his family and animals more than anything. He will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
