Joanne Pyne

WAREHAM – Joanne (Surdam) Pyne, 86, of Wareham, passed away August 12, 2025, at Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of the late Warren L. Pyne, Sr. and the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Belcher) Surdam.

She was born in Brockton and lived in Wareham for many years. She graduated from Brockton High School.

Mrs. Pyne was the office manager at Chiropractic Southeast in South Easton for many years before retiring.

She was a member of the Central Methodist Church in Brockton and taught Sunday School there. She attended New England Baptist Church for many years. She had many interests and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, canning, carpentry, gardening, landscaping and antiques. She was an avid reader and talented carpenter.

Survivors include her children, Warren L. Pyne, Jr. and his wife, Gretchan of Wareham; Jeanne L. Rollins and her husband, Herb of East Bridgewater, Melanie G. Horsman and her husband, Brian of FL; 2 sisters, Helen Boetteger and Dorothy Butler both of Brockton; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne L. DeMoulis, her granddaughter, Olivia "LuLu" Pyne, her grandson, Joseph Clark and 8 siblings.

Visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
