Coby Christian Thompson, loving husband, father, PePaw, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 52, in Aubrey,TX.
He was born to Craig Thompson and Cassie Semich on January 19, 1970, in Fort Belvoir, VA. He had the opportunity to live in Europe from 1970 to 1973, before moving back to Fort Belvoir for 2 years and then settling in San Antonio, TX. It was in San Antonio where Coby developed an interest in cars and worked in car restoration and auto body repair. Later in 1990, he relocated to the Dallas area with his family where he met the love of his life, Lori Dawn Babbitt, and continued his career in collision repair and auto restoration. Coby and Lori were married shortly after and during their 26 years of marriage raised a beautiful daughter, Caitlin, who he was so very proud of and loved with all his heart. He absolutely adored his son-in-law, Kurkland, and being PePaw to his grandson, Beau.
Throughout the years, Coby enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing. He had a love for horses and his dogs. He was an amazing cook who gathered family and friends anytime he could to grill out and share a meal with those he loved. Coby was known for his sense of humor, generosity, and heart the size of Texas.
Coby was preceded in death by his brother, Cheney, whom he loved dearly; and grandparents, William and Evelyn Thompson and Ellis and Margaret Semich.
He is survived by his wife Lori; daughter, Caitlin Boney and husband Kurkland; one grandson, Beau; father, Craig Thompson and wife Leticia; mother, Cassie Baker and husband Mike; one brother, Chad Thompson; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Betty Babbitt; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Kerri Babbitt; one niece, Megan Kerr and husband Otto, and their daughter, Lauryn. He also leaves behind extended family and friends he touched during his short life.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
