Cody Arrowsmith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vistoso Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2026.
Cody Murray Arrowsmith

Born: November 18, 1979 in Prescott, Arizona

Died December 22, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona

Cody Arrowsmith was the beloved son of Murray Arrowsmith and Judy Arrowsmith. He was born in Prescott, Arizona, in 1979 and spent his first 14 years of life there. He attended Taylor Hicks Elementary School and Granite Mountain Middle School. Many lifelong friendships were established in Prescott before a move to the old west town of Lincoln, New Mexico in 1994.

Cody loved history and was always enamored with living in the midst of it, where Billy the Kid became infamous. He was always outdoors exploring and hiking, often with his sister and best friend, Mandy. He attended Capitan High School and cemented lots of important friendships.

In 1998 Cody was accepted as a student at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, where decades prior his grandfather had served as Vice President. He loved the South and its history and bonded with the warmth of its people. Once again, many lasting friendships were made. Cody graduated with a degree in marketing in 2003 and proceeded to work in the hospitality industry for most of his life. Cody also loved to travel and see new places and experience different things and he always sought to live life to the fullest. He loved everyone, was always cheerful and happy and ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. "He never knew a stranger," as many often said. It has blessed Cody's family to see the outpouring of love from hundreds of friends following the announcement of his passing. And, most importantly, Cody also loved the Lord, our savior, Jesus Christ.

Cody Arrowsmith was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Arrowsmith; his paternal grandparents Rex and Bonnie Arrowsmith and his maternal grandparents Don and Ercie Bell.

He is survived by his father Murray Arrowsmith, his stepmother Marilyn Arrowsmith, his sister Amanda (Mandy) Christensen and her husband Lee, his stepsister Kirstie Owings, his stepbrother Patrick Trotter and six (soon to be seven) awesome nephews and nieces who always referred to him as "Uncle Coyote."

Cody will be missed by so many and the memories he has left us with will never fade. A celebration of life is planned for later this year, but a date has not been set.

I never met anyone else that immediately felt a bond. I knew he was someone special from the start! We only were able to spend a few months together, but we became fast friends and I will sincerely miss him! I send my condolences to the family and prayers for strength.

You will be severely missed by Kathy and I. We all had some great times during my year deployment to Ruidoso. Thank you for showing me some Billy the Kid spots I never had a chance to explore before. You became a good Brother to me, my friend. You will be truly missed by Kathy, Lego and myself. RIP Brother.

Cody was the most kind and generous soul. He gave my husband, Paul, and me a gift certificate to stay at the Inn of the Mountain Gods along with tickets to the Spencer Theater to see the "Beatles". He always had a smile. We love you, Cody!

I remember the weekend trip Steven and I took to visit you in Ruidoso and you let us stay with you! We went on the mountain coaster, had a couple drinks and had a lot of fun. You and my dad would bet on college football before he passed. RIP Cody, you´ll be missed.

Gosh I miss you. I've caught myself looking at your phone to calll you and I can't. The kids will always remember you for being the best uncle. I know you are enjoying heaven and making everyone laugh but man I wish you had more time here. Love you

I still remember the day Cody enrolled in my English class at Capitan High School. I thought he was the nicest, most polite young man I had ever encountered. He was a joy to have in class, and I kept up with him throughout his adult years. You will really be missed, Cody.
