Cody King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Mar. 13, 2026.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cody Alexander King (31). He went home to be with the Lord on February 18, 2026, at 6:32p.m. after bravely battling Burkitt lymphoma. Cody was born on January 30,1995 in Indianapolis to his loving and devoted mother Leighan King and adoring father John King. He is survived by his wife, Alexa King, his siblings Briana (Cody), Cayley (Grant), and Bricker, as well as his cherished niece and nephew, Livi and Hudson. He will be greatly missed by his grandparents Pat and Chuck Lechner, Aunt Lori King, Great Aunt Judith Allison, Aunt Anita Brettin, Aunt Reva Mirti, and Aunt Carla Gordan along with many cousins and friends, too numerous to count.

He spent much of his childhood playing hockey and fishing, a deep passion that was instilled in him at an early age by his beloved Papa, Marvin King. To say that jump started his love of everything outdoors would be an understatement. Later in life he went on to not only continue fishing but expand that love of the wilderness to camping, "wannabe" overlanding, along with his car obsession, grilling, and biking. Cody fully immersed himself in every hobby he ever enjoyed like DJing or anything to do with music and RC car racing to which he succeeded in peer pressuring many others into purchasing as well. His "send it" attitude was truly one to be marveled, leaving many with the memories of numerous spontaneous trips and activities to be cherished eternally.

His wife Alexa was happily by his side through all his passions and was hooked from the first time her foot went through the floorboard of his big rusty blue truck on their first date. The one he was most proud of though, was his close relationship with God. He used his faith to not only change his own life but the lives of so many. There are countless stories from his friends about all the ways in which their lives were truly better off after Cody brought them closer to God. He played a huge role at his church serving on the media team at Grace House, contributing his talents behind the scenes to share the message of Christ with humility and dedication.

At 31 years old, his life, though far too short, was full of meaning and purpose. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.

In honor of Cody memorial donations can be made to www.fuckcancer.org. This organization grants wishes to children as well as adults who deal with cancer.
