Cody Michael Neal

Cody Michael Neal, 26, passed away on October 13, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1999 to Lori Neal Burnette and Ryan Patrick Neal. Cody worked for Vulcan Materials Company. He was also a member of Notchy Creek Baptist Church. Cody was saved and accepted the Lord as his Savior while attending there. There will never be another like Cody, he was full of life, quick wit and humor. He was mischievous and a prankster who loved to laugh. To know him, was to love him. Cody was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing. Once, Cody ran fishing line under the rug and up the side of the window with fishing hooks attached to the blinds and curtains. When the family had settled in the living room for the evening, Cody yanked the line and the blinds and curtains flew open, scaring everyone in the room, followed by howls of laughter. This was Cody. His heart of gold and contagious laughter will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Cody is preceded in death by his grandparents Cecil and Linda Ritchie and great grandparents Lee and Barbara Johnson.
He is survived by his mother and stepdad, Lori and Jamey Burnette of Sweetwater; his father Ryan Neal of Niota; his brothers and sisters Hunter (Alya) Ritchie, Haley Ruhstaller, Madison Ruhstaller, Noah Burnette, Ryan Neal Jr and Amber Neal. His grandparents Larry and Patsy Neal of Madisonville; his "Funcle" Michael Ritchie of Sweetwater; and his best friend Shane McCammon. Cody also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends to list. The loss of Cody has left an enormous hole in the hearts of so many.
Receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Liberality Baptist Church in Madisonville from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM with a Celebration of Life following at 5:00 PM. Sweetwater Memory Chapel is honored to serve Cody's family.
