Cody Louis Rasmussen, age 47, of Roosevelt, passed away May 26, 2024, at his home after a short illness.
He was born May 25, 1977, in Roosevelt, to Larry and Kitty Wills Rasmussen. He met the love of his life, Emily Paulsen, when she was fourteen, he was sixteen, and they’ve been together ever since. They were married on August 7, 1999, in Roosevelt, Utah.
Cody operated Larry’s Trucking, a water trucking company for the oil field. He was a hard worker, and a fair and kind employer. His family, especially his children and his wife, were his #1 priority and his granddaughter was his absolute pride and joy! He also loved his parents, siblings, his many great friends, and other family members so dearly.
He enjoyed drawing, writing, making rings, wood burning art, fishing, and riding in his CanAm side-by-side. He would light up the room with his happiness and smile, had to try everything at farmer’s markets and festivals, liked to listen to music, have a beer, and was known for “Shit Yes!” He had a meticulous yard and was a quite the shopper – whether online or in person.
Cody was Christlike and cared about everyone. He was thoughtful and showed his love in so many ways. His children were his best friends, and his “Twin Flame,” Emily, was his soul mate. He was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
Cody is survived by his wife of 24 years, Emily, of Roosevelt; his children, Jesi Rasmussen (Riley Ottesen), Roosevelt; Cashe Larry Rasmussen, St. George; Trae Cody Rasmussen, Roosevelt; granddaughter, Ruka Moon; a grandson on the way; parents, Larry & Kitty Rasmussen; grandfather, John Wills; siblings, Troy John Rasmussen; Shayna (Cory) Hoyt, all of Roosevelt; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna Wills; Jack & Anona Rasmussen; uncle Louis Rasmussen; and aunt Jana Rasmussen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Event Center (1024 W Highway 40, Roosevelt, UT). There will be a viewing on Sunday at the Grace Event Center from 5-7 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
