Colin James Kerry

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI – Colin James Kerry, age 34, of Negaunee Township, entered eternal life Tuesday, August 8, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident in Mackinac County.
Colin was born February 10, 1989, in Wausau, Wisconsin, a son of Kurt and Carla Kerry. Early in his life, he was homeschooled by his mother where he developed a love for learning. He altar served with his brother and father at St. Christopher Church. Archbishop Sample favorably called them his "A team". He even chose them to serve with Cardinal Szoka for a special Mass. Colin graduated from Negaunee High School in 2007. He was a member of the Miner hockey and tennis teams for 3 years. Following high school, he attended the Community College of Baltimore County receiving his AAS degree in air traffic control. He returned home and began 5 Guys Construction with two of his brothers and two friends. He later entered the electrician apprenticeship program and became a journeyman electrician in March of this year. He was employed by IBEW Local 906.
Colin loved spending time with his sons, Harrison and Cason. He loved playing hockey, golf, and fastpitch softball with his brothers and friends. Colin will be remembered most for his love of family, especially his boys, his outgoing personality, helpfulness, passion for life, and his infectious smile. He had many friends whom he cherished.
Colin is survived by his sons Harrison and Cason; his parents Kurt and Carla Kerry of Negaunee Township; brothers Adam (Becky) Kerry and children, Izak, Lily, Ellie, Henry and Charlotte of Hancock; Bryce (Amanda) Kerry and children Landon, Liam, and Grace of Negaunee; Shawn (Cailey) Kerry and children Juliet and Duncan of Palmer; and sister Kendall (Jason) Soderberg and children Makenna, Bella, Natalia, Lucia, Gianna, Francesca, Zelia, Magdelena, and Dolorosa of New Ulm, MN. Colin is also survived by ten uncles and aunts and twenty first cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, three uncles and a cousin.
The family will receive relatives and friends in the Bishop's Room located at St. Peter Cathedral on Friday, August 18, beginning at 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Cathedral at 12:00 noon with Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber, pastor, as celebrant. For those wishing to participate, a Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am in the Bishop's Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to establish a trust fund for his children.
