Colin Larkin Obituary
Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Colin Wisdom Larkin, a beloved son, brother, friend and student, passed away on July 10, 2025, just ten days shy of his 20th birthday. Born on July 20, 2005, as an identical twin and the fourth of four children, Colin brought joy and light to everyone around him with his gentle spirit, quick wit, and boundless love.
As a child, Colin was a ham, delighting in dressing up in playful outfits chosen by his older sisters, Sydney and Chloe Larkin, striking poses for the camera or anyone who paused to admire his charm. His love for life carried into his youth, where he embraced soccer and Boy Scouts, reveling in the outdoors-despite memorable misadventures like a raccoon invading his tent or a troop-wide stomach illness in the wilderness. These moments only added to the stories he'd later share with his signature wry smile.
Colin's passions were as vibrant as his heart. He found solace and expression at the piano, filling the halls of Katherine Anne Porter Charter School with soulful melodies that captivated all who heard. His curiosity led him to immerse himself in ancient civilizations, mastering their languages, mapping their worlds, and reciting the dates and details of long-forgotten wars and cultures with remarkable precision. Video games offered him another avenue for creativity, but it was his love for learning and connecting with others that truly defined him.
Soft-spoken yet undeniably funny, Colin's lowkey humor and subtle quips could light up a room, often catching you off guard with their cleverness. Slow to anger and ever kind, he never spoke ill of others and was always ready with a hug, a kind word, a gift, or a witty remark to lift someone's spirits. His generosity of heart ensured he never took more than his share or imposed on those around him. Colin also deeply loved his dog, Theodore Roosevelt, affectionately known as Teddy, who was a constant source of joy and companionship.
Colin was immensely proud of his first job at The Balloon Museum, a role he'd just begun, and was thriving as he started his second year at Austin Community College. His future was bright, filled with promise and the same quiet determination that shaped his life.
Colin leaves behind his loving parents, John K. Larkin and Megan Wisdom-Larkin; his twin, Elizabeth Larkin; his sisters, Sydney Larkin and Chloe Larkin; his aunts and uncles, Laura Wisdom, Thomas Durnin, and Tom Larkin; and his grandmother, Jennifer Wisdom. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Barbara R. Wisdom and Susan Brown Larkin; his grandfather, James Paul Wisdom, Jr.; and his uncle, Nathanial Wisdom.
A celebration of Colin's life will be held on July 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 15951 Winters Mill Parkway, Wimberley, TX 78676, to be followed by Colin's burial at Driftwood Cemetery, 15090 West FM 150, Driftwood, TX 78619, and a reception in Colin's honor at xxx Seep Rock Cove, Driftwood, TX 78619.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Austin Pets Alive in Colin's honor.
