RICHMOND, Ind. - Bobby "Bob" Lynn Larkin, age 82, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Reid Health surrounded by family.
Born October 1, 1942, in Winchester, Indiana, to Lynn D. and Unevia Russell Larkin, Bob lived in several states, Indiana, Kansas, Colorado, Florida, and back to Indiana. He was a graduate of Fountain City High School. After graduation, Bob joined the United States Army, then went to work at the railroad, eventually working for several different railroads, Pennsylvania Railroad, Pennsylvania Central, Conrail, and finally Union Pacific, before retiring. Bob enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, when they lived in Colorado, he enjoyed hiking and Jeeping; woodworking, building quilt racks, and even a cradle for a grandchild. Bob was a member of Fountain City Wesleyan Church and American Legion Harry Ray Post #65. After moving back to Richmond, he liked to go out to eat, especially at Sunshine Café, then Hand and Fork, where the servers and staff fondly referred to him as "Grandpa."
Survivors include his wife of almost 41 years, Sharon E. Larkin, to whom he was married on August 18, 1984; daughters, Dawn (Jerry) Jones and Angela (Chris) Rodenburg; sons, Robert Larkin and Shawn (Lisa) Larkin; grandchildren, Matt Jones, Caleb (Mary) Jones, James Larkin, Beth (Patrick) Thomas, Evan Rodenburg, and Chase Rodenburg; great-granddaughters, Jasmine Larkin, Abigail Jones, Skylar Card, and Paisley Card; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lee Larkin.
Services for Bobby Lynn Larkin will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
