RICHMOND, Ind. - Norma Jean Abner, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, April 5, 2025, at home.
Born April 16, 1946, in McKee, Kentucky, to Clifton and Mary Jane Wright Spivey, Norma lived in this area since the late 1960s. She worked at Dairy Queen for over 30 years. Norma enjoyed singing, especially country music, and being with her family.
Survivors include her children, Terry (Christi) Abner and Shawna Abner; grandchildren, Mariah Abner, Carter Lee McNutt, and Tony (Jenny) Tevis; great-grandchildren, Bronson Tevis, Bishop Tevis, and one on the way; sister, Gail (Donnie) Bagley; brother, Boyd Spivey; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Carmel Abner in August of 2020 and her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Leland Legacy for the compassionate care given to Norma in her last days.
Private graveside services for Norma Jean Abner will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, 407 Short Street, Centerville. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
