Harvie Abner, passed away at the age of 93 on July 29, 2025, in Liberty Township, Ohio.
He was born on July 23, 1932, in Manchester, Kentucky, son of Leonard and Nannie Abner.
He proudly served in the US Army and worked and retired from General Electric as a machinist and union steward.
He truly lived life with joy in his heart and dirt on his hands. He loved his garden like it was part of the family, always out there planting, pruning, and smiling. Utah was his favorite place in the world – the mountains, the skies, the quiet beauty – it all brought him peace.
But more than anything, we remember his laugh. That deep, contagious laugh that could light up a room and lift your spirit, even on the hardest days.
He is survived by his children: Devona (Mike) Peters, Linda Kiser, Christine Acuff, and Leonard Abner. Grandchildren: Jason (Lindsey), Jeremy (Jen), Danny, Amber, Heather, and Johnny. Great grandchildren: Kylie, Kody, Devin, Jaylynn, Kallee, Kelcee, Cody, Brandon, Rathian and Kairi. Stepchildren: Dale (Rita) Anderson, and Linda Romano. Step grandchildren: Ryan, Rachel, Ian, Samantha, Michael and Marc. Step great grandchildren: Reese, Luna, Noah, and Brooks.
Visitation will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 2nd with a Military Salute at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, Kentucky. Burial will follow at the Cottongim Cemetery.
