Patricia Ann Abner, 66, made her heavenly transition on August 28, 2025.

Affectionately known by many as "Kitty Cat," Patricia was known for her warm spirit and joyful energy. She was a proud graduate of Churchland High School (Class of 1976), where she was a dedicated member of the track team. She went on to complete coursework at Tidewater Community College.

Patricia spent over two decades working at the shipyard and at several local dry-cleaning businesses, where she took pride in her work and touched the lives of many customers and coworkers. She had a passion for helping others, enjoyed dancing, and loved playing cards. Above all, she was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted member of Mt. Nebo RZUA Church in Portsmouth, VA, where she joyfully served as a member of the church choir.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles Speight, and her sisters Eveleen Giles, Maxine Davis, and Mary J. Speight.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her partner and long time companion, Reuben Russ; her beloved son, Davon Speight (Sarah); and her adored grandsons, Dawson and Damian. She is also survived by her sisters, Loretta Taylor, Katrina Stallins, and Willowtina Riddick; her brothers, Charlie Speight (Aldephia), Robert Speight, Alonzo Speight (Lorri), and Clinton Speight (Fern); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
