Colin T. Naylor III died March 1, 2022 in Binghamton, New York at the age of 88. He grew up in Peekskill, New York and graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. After serving two years in the U.S. Army during the Cold War, he joined the law firm of Hinman, Howard, & Kattell in Binghamton in 1960, where he specialized in tax law. He became a partner in 1970 and became Special Counsel to Hinman, Howard & Kattell in 2004.
Throughout his life, Colin enjoyed classical music (especially Bach), opera, and jazz. During his retirement years, he was able to indulge his cultural interests in music, dance, theater, art and visiting museums. While politically conservative, he was catholic in his tastes in literature. He loved history and enjoyed lively discussion.
Colin is lovingly survived by his sister, Natalie A. Naylor of Uniondale, N.Y., his dear friend Judy Vieux of Troy, Mich., and cousins Kimberley McSparran and Gregory McSparran.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 am, Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Binghamton Club, 83 Front Street, Binghamton. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Van Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. on a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Colin's name may be made to Tri-Cities Opera, 315 Clinton Street, Binghamton New York 13905 or to the United Way of Broome County, 101 Jensen Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
