In Loving Memory of Colleen McKeown
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colleen (Shannon) McKeown, aged 61, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She left us surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering care. Colleen was fiercely loyal and loving. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael McKeown, for 42 years and a steadfast partner in life's journey. She was a loving mother to her three daughters, Danielle (Andrew) Madison, Brittney (Joseph) Gionfriddo, and Caitlyn (Edward) Skolnick. She was also a cherished grandmother to her eight grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her mother, Kay Hefferon, and her sisters, Theresa Shannon, Lisa McMahon, and Tracey Kaisinger. She is predeceased by her father, Gerald Shannon, and her brother, Gerald Shannon, Jr. Colleen proudly owned a construction company, inspiring many with her intelligence and work ethic. Her entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by her generous heart. An avid animal lover and compassionate volunteer, she selflessly gave her time to causes close to her heart. She loved reading, gardening, and crafting. She was the imaginative force behind every Halloween costume in her daughters' childhood, weaving magic and care into every stitch. She also lovingly created handmade Christmas sweaters for her children and thoughtfully crafted custom Christmas Eve baskets for each of her eight grandchildren, making every gift personal and meaningful. Thoughtful beyond measure, Colleen always knew what others needed before they did, always taking the initiative to care for others. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were fortunate to know her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts she touched and the countless lives she uplifted. A private celebration of her life will be held in her honor at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Wet Nose Rescue, a cause close to her heart.
