Colleen Hebert Nagowski, 92, of Cumberland Head, Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 at CVPH, Plattsburgh, with her family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh on July 11, 1932, the daughter of Henry and Mae Hebert of Peru.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Thomas E. Nagowski, her daughter Connie Favreau (William), son David Nagowski (Amy); grandchildren Mallory Urbanski (Daniel), Nicolas Favreau (Carly), Bobbi Jo Nagowski; and great grandsons Nathan Urbanski and Weston Favreau.
Colleen was predeceased by her son, Thomas H. Nagowski and her brother Berkley W. Hebert.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Rev. William G. Reamer. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Colleen was a 1950 graduate of Peru Central School and Plattsburgh Business Institute. She started her career at A. Mason & Sons in Peru and when the Plattsburgh Air Force Base opened, she was secretary and stenographer to Brig. Gen. Kenneth O. Sandborn.
She was a proud military wife and above all things, was most grateful to be a mom, grandmother, and most recently-a great grandmother. She really loved the simple things in life more than any possessions.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to her son's scholarship at Peru Central School. They can be sent to the Thomas H. Nagowski Scholarship, c/o Mountain Valley FCU, PO Box 565, Peru, NY 12972.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
