Charlene (Char) M. Pray was born in Plattsburgh, NY, on October 18, 1957, the daughter of William and Viola (Rock) Pray.
Char spent her early years in Keeseville, NY, where she developed a strong sense of compassion and dedication to those around her. Her greatest joys in life were her children and, later, her grandchildren.
During her professional career, Char worked at the ARC in Keeseville from 1987 to 1999, where she provided care for intellectually disabled adults. Her commitment to her clients was unwavering, reflecting her deep passion for helping others.
Char was a lover of bingo in her earlier years and enjoyed playing the game. In her later years, she was known for her selflessness, always ensuring that the needs of others were met before her own. Char frequently visited local organizations, particularly The Salvation Army and JCEO, ensuring that those around her had access to essential resources.
Char's memory will be forever cherished by her children, Jennifer (BJ), Melissa, and Geoffrey (Monique); her grandchildren, Monique, Hunter, Gaige (Hanna), Allie, Iorek, Nayomi, Blythe, and Bentley; and her siblings, Robin, Russell (Linda), Cindy, Brenda (Darwin), Joe (Rebecca), and Dan (Dawn) Pray.
Char was predeceased by her parents, William and Viola, her siblings, Allen, Pamela, William (Bill), Brian, Alfred, and her grandchild, Ja'Lieghia.
Services will be private.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Salvation Army or JCEO in Char's honor.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Rd. Peru, (518) 643-9055.
