Colleen P. O'Hara

Colleen O'Hara passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 30, 2026. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Carleen (Beckham) O'Hara. Colleen grew up in Montville, Connecticut, and was a graduate of Montville High School. After earning her associate degree, she made her home in Danville, California, in the San Francisco Bay area, where she built both a career and a wide circle of cherished friends. She worked as an underwriter for various insurance companies, known for her professionalism, warmth, and the lasting connections she formed with colleagues. She had recently relocated to Connecticut to be closer to her family.

Colleen had a deep love for life's simple joys. She treasured time spent with family, enjoyed traveling and vacations, and had a special love for music, especially rock and roll and bluegrass. She attended bluegrass festivals in California and was happiest near the water, with the beach holding a special place in her heart.

She leaves behind her loving siblings: Janice Dowling of Ledyard, CT; Nancy O'Hara and her husband Michael Levine of Germantown, NY; Michael O'Hara and his wife Lorraine O'Hara of Fresno, CA; William O'Hara of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Karen O'Hara of New Britain, CT; Kathleen O'Hara of Pinellas Park, Florida; and Richard O'Hara and his wife Sandra Pipicelli of Meriden, CT. She also leaves many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on a future date to be announced. Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington is serving her family.
